The Rosell family has been making wine at the Cal Batllevell winery in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia since 1845.

The Cal Batllevell winery has stood in the middle of the cava capital since the early 19th century, housed a few metres under the ground in two small vaulted rooms carved from limestone with lime mortar joints. In 1986, in response to an urgent need to remodel, the family embarked upon an ambitious overhaul of the winery, adapting the facilities to meet the new challenge that arose from Miguel Rosell's decision to branch into the exciting but complicated world of cava production.

The cava we make at Rosell Gallart is always vintage Brut Nature with no additives of any kind. We uphold the traditional manufacturing method and character, according to an artisanal, family-based production style while progressively adapting to modern tastes and new times. From the fully manual early days through to the current semiautomatic disgorging method, the facilities have been continually modernised and improved, but the processes and the tirage and ageing secrets kept intact, always seeking to optimise a traditional process and a craft form of production.
